Brooks Hartell graduated with a BFA in piano performance from Mannes College of Music/The New School University in New York City. Brooks performs at well known New York establishments such as Joe's Pub, Cafe Carlisle, The Pierre, The Waldorf Astoria, 21 Club, Small's, Mezzrow and Iridium. Notable performances include playing opening sets for Branford Marsalis, Arturo Sandoval and Dave Brubeck at the Mackinac Island Jazz Festival as well as featured performances at Fillmore Jazz Festival in San Francisco.

Brooks has worked for Universal Music Group as an accompanist for emerging artist showcases. Currently, he has been playing extended summer and winter engagements at the Duchin Lounge in the Sun Valley Lodge, Sun Valley ID.
